CIB merge technical documentation (EN)
6. Call parameters in detail
6.53. Parameter --optimize
The parameter --optimize removes the superfluous switches inserted by MS Word.
Syntax
--optimize
Description
When inserting or reformatting REF fields, MS Word sometimes inserts a switch \* FORMATBINDEN or \* MERGEFORMAT, which makes the raw texts less readable and leads to performance disadvantages in CIB merge. CIB merge removes these superfluous switches with the –optimize parameter.
Example
--inputfile=Optimierung_in.rtf --outputfile=!Optimierung_out.rtf --optimize --filter=f
Here all MERGEFORMAT switches are removed from the RTF optimization_in.rtf without mixing in field results (--filter=f). The result letter_optimized does not contain such switches anymore.
The usage of this parameter together with other optimization parameters is described in the Gap Text example.
