Representation of a business transaction:

Business transactions consist of different elements

      • Business transaction properties - present in every business transaction
        • Name of the business case
        • Functions at the level of the business case

      • Folder

A folder is a placeholder for making documents and data available or retrieving them in a structured and professionally bundled way. The user should be able to see from the name which technical documents are stored here.

        • Any number of documents can be uploaded.
        • Any number of document slots can be provided.
        • Folders can be nested, so subfolders can be added.
        • Important for business case templates:

Documents in a folder can no longer be changed. Static documents such as general terms and conditions are stored in a folder. For such documents, the end user is no longer expected to take any action. Documents that an end user is to complete, for example, must always be stored in a document slot in the business case template.

      • The order of the folders is alphanumeric. To change the order, an index number can be added to the beginning of the name.
        • Example - alphanumeric sorting:
        • Example 2 - Sorting with indexing:
      • Document slots

A document slot is a placeholder for exactly one dedicated document. The user must automatically recognise via the name which document is to be stored here.

        • Exactly one document can be uploaded.
        • Important:

Documents in a slot can still be changed later. Standard forms to be filled in are stored in slots.

      • Documents

Documents are data uploaded into a folder or a document slot. The documents can be displayed and edited depending on whether they are in a slot (then editable) or a folder (then not editable).

These elements can be orchestrated individually depending on the business process. The aim is to map the documents and data involved in the business process. These documents and data are provided, edited and checked bidirectionally by the end user and the business users.
