Configuration file
In this section we will explore how to adjust CIB pdf brewer at your needs with direct manipulation of the configuration files.
Hierarchy
CIB pdf brewer has a hierarchy of configuration files that are loaded.
Global configuration file
- The global configuration file is located in the windows drivers directoy, which is %SystemRoot%\System32\spool\drivers\x64\3 and named CIBpdf_3.conf.
- When no printer driver was installed, the global configuration file is in the installation directory of the CIB pdf brewer in %ProgramFiles%, which is normally %ProgramFiles%\CIB software GmbH\CIB pdf brewer_3.
- This file is loaded at first. Changing this file requires adminstrator rights.
Printer configuration file
- The printer configuration file is located in the windows drivers directoy, which is %SystemRoot%\System32\spool\drivers\x64\3 and named <printername>.conf.
- This file is loaded after the global configuration file. Settings made here, override settings of the global configuration file.
- Changing this file requires adminstrator rights.
- When no printer driver was installed, this file does not exist and is not used.
User configuration file
- The user configuration file is located in %APPDATA%\CIB software GmbH\CIB pdf brewer\ and named Global.config.json.txt
- This file is loaded after the global and printer configuration files. Settings made here, override settings of them, except for those, which restrict, customize ui or freeze settings.
